2. Hosting and server logs

When you visit, the host processes technical data such as your IP address, date and time, and the requested page, in server logs. This is necessary to deliver and secure the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest).

3. Analytics

I use GoatCounter (goatcounter.com), a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count visits and see which pages or sites referred visitors. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not store or read anything on your device, and does not create personal profiles or track you across sites. It records page, referrer, browser type, screen size and country.

Legal basis: my legitimate interest in understanding how this site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR) by emailing me, or block the analytics script with a browser extension or content blocker.

4. External links

This site links to Instagram (Meta) and Flickr (SmugMug). Once you follow a link, their privacy policies apply. No data is sent to them just by visiting this page.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Arts. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, e.g. the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
